Media Plan Case Competition 2023

The Washington Media Scholars Foundation Media Plan Case Competition challenges students to think strategically and dive into the deep end of marketing impressions, numbers, and budgets. The 2023 Case Competition asked students to create a media plan pilot program proposal that will help improve the public's perception of pharmacists and the pharmaceutical industry, decreasing negative customer interactions and burnout amongst professionals.

Throughout the creation of our plan, my teammate and I completed and conducted exploratory research, audience analysis, data analysis, and cost vs. benefit analysis and put together a final media mix plan that would help improve the public's perception of pharmacists, increase knowledge about the profession, and improve customer interactions.

Our proposal was designed with universal design principles. We wanted to target the real people of Popsville, the real influencers of today. You are more likely to be influenced by your neighbor than by the Kim Kardashians of the world. People want to feel connected, seen and heard by the media and what better way than to target your real neighbors? For a problem like perception, there is no one size fits all solution – there are only diverse solutions.

Our FIRST PLACE WINNING submission plan was designed to be easily understood using graphs, icons, and clear, concise language to help navigate the viewer through.

For the Final Presentation of our proposal, I designed an eye-catching and visually engaging pitch deck. Nowadays, people generally have a limited attention span, often just a few minutes at most.  Therefore, the pitch deck was meticulously crafted to visually enhance our presentation without distracting from our message.
